Crestworth also created an interesting array of other lights such as their Aromalite, which was a dual purpose fragrance lamp that provided ambient light and fragrance with its ornate glass shade. Twiggy was a radically new take on functional lighting. Twiggy is an interesting endearing light that featured variable geometry and thus can be positioned anyway you wish and some even feature flocked shades (as seen below), which makes them so fun to the touch. Traction lamp presented the romance of the steam age in a lantern styled enclosure to create a masculine design ... Edward Craven Walker was a pioneer in the field of naturism and the founder of the Bournemouth & District Outdoor Club, a naturist club. Some vintage lamps, were branded with the name BDOC and feature the address of the BDOC. These lamps are identical to Crestworth's Nordic lamps using the same bottle, however they feature a brushed finish and a clever, yet extremely simplistic two part construction. An example of a BDOC lamp can be seen below, featuring a Mathmos Clear/Orange bottle. Mathmos Jet bottles both Glitter and Lava can be used to refresh these lamps (a felt pad can be used to stabilise the bottle if necessary) or alternatively the contents can be switched into the original bottle. |
