www.lavalamphistory.com | The History of the lava lamp & lava lamp history | Diamond Jubilee lava lamp Special Edition (released: 2012)

Below: In 2012, Mathmos celebrated the Diamond Jubilee with a limited Jubilee Astro lava lamp, featuring patriotic colours of Blue/Red which play homage to the Union Jack. The Jubilee Astro was limited to one thousand pieces worldwide, and ships with a specially customised base and cap design. In particular, the cap features whimsical graphics of British bunting, playing reference to the Diamond Jubilee celebration. The Jubilee limited edition Astro lamp is sure to be a collectable piece just like the Mathmos Flocked Edition Astros and other rare pieces and limited editions from the past. In fact, Mathmos lava lamps are surrounded by a dedicated collecting community that celebrates the history of the original Mathmos lava lamp, vintage and contemporary lava lamp models, released throughout the years since their introduction in 1963.
