The early 2000s saw the launch of Fluidium and metallic sparkling lava lamps known as Glitter Ball. Mathmos also launched Jetstream, a slide on cover that instantly transforms the Mathmos Jet into a new design. Jetstream presents a futuristic sleek organic take on the Jet lava lamp, with a window-like design inspiring people to look into the lava lamp.


2009 saw the launch of Fireflow innovative candle powered lava lamp designs, the introduction of a white finished Astro Baby, beautiful new lava lamp wax colours such as Turquoise & Pink. This was furthered in 2010 by the introduction of Smart Astro and impressive Monster sized lava lamps. Mathmos Monster lava lamps like giant vintage designs such as: Fireball and the Giant are so big that they each require to be filled on-site with their specialist liquid formulation. Smart Astro launched by Mathmos first in 2010, trades the light bulb seen in the base of lava lamps for decades with colour changing LEDs and automatic temperature regulation.
