Below: During the 1990s, Mathmos created the Mathmos Space Projector. Space Projector was introduced in the later 1990s as an oil wheel projector with a range of colourful slides. Space Projector by Mathmos can project up to a 1.5m moving image onto ceilings and walls for a dazzling effect. Space Projector by Mathmos features rotating oil wheels which can simply be slotted into the design, which are heated from the light of the bulb and rotated by the internal motor. The result is then projected onto a surface. Space Projector saw a new dimension in the 1990s with the introduction of graphic packs for Space Projector. Graphic packs trade the oil wheels for artwork by cutting edge designers to create moving artwork that tells a story or acts as surreal wallpaper.
