Mathmos Softlight | Ghost | Blimp | Minilamp

In the 2000s Mathmos furthered the Mathmos Mobiles with the Mathmos softlight range. A range of innovative mouth blown glass lights featuring LED technology. A balance of traditional craftsmanship and the latest in LED technology. The first Softlights were launched as Ghost, Blimp & Minilamp, each with a unique design. Each feature complete rainbow colour changing technology and Mathmos' soft press technology to switch on and off.

Mathmos Tuba | A Magical Space of Light

Further to this, Mathmos also created Tuba, a colour changing light. Tuba features a beautiful enclosure that presents a space of coloured of light. Tuba is sound sensitive and intelligent, being switched on by simply placing ones hand into the lamp, a magical switching mechanism. Please see the image below.

Mathmos Softlight | Blimp & Big Blimp

Below one can see the Mathmos Mini lamp, the assorted photos below show the lamp working in the dark, the products packaging and the wonderful colours that this lamp produces. Shaped like a Mini lamp, this wonderful product is a beautiful Softlight. Blimp became extremely popular and for short while Mathmos introduced the Big Blimp (please see the Mathmos New for 2006 display card below), a larger wall mountable (if desired) version of the Blimp. Big Blimp had the ability to pause on a certain colour if desired.

Mathmos Eclipse Lights | Lunar & Solar Eclipse | Optically Beautiful

Mathmos created two editions of the Eclipse products. Lunar Eclipse featured a wire mesh diffuser and thus created an added optical effect. Lunar Eclipse also featured a colder range of colours to mirror the colours of the Moon. Solar Eclipse featured warmer brighter colours with a frosted polymer diffuser. Just like all of Mathmos' softlight products, Eclipse lights feature the soft-press Mathmos technology, where you simply press on the lamp to switch it on and off.

Lunar Eclipse and Solar Eclipse remain some of my favourite products from the 2000s and their optical effect is stunning. Below one can see images from a Mathmos brochure of these wonderful lamps. The Lunar Eclipse graces the front of the Mathmos catalog below.
