Below: Mixing the properties of glitter and lava, Mathmos created Glitter Ball. Glitter Ball is a fusion of a glitter lamp and a lava lamp produced with shiny lava. Glitter Ball lamps use a different formulation than standard lava lamps and tend to produce more ovoid slow moving shapes which are just as beautiful. Glitter Ball is seen in an array of colours in brochures but is seen often seen in: 'Jade' Green, Blue and later in Aluminium (silver). Mathmos also introduced the Metallic Astro lava lamps seen in Red, Purple and Green, which use a slightly different formulation to the Glitter Ball which was only produced in Astro Baby bottles to the mainstream public.
